OVERVIEW

VidVana is built on a simple principle: your content stays yours. Unlike cloud-based services, VidVana runs entirely on your device. We don't have servers storing your videos, we don't track what you watch, and we can't access your files—even if we wanted to.

This policy explains what minimal data we do collect (spoiler: almost nothing), how we use it, and your rights.

WHAT WE COLLECT

1. Analytics Data (Google Analytics)

We use Google Analytics on our website to understand how visitors use our site. This includes:

• Pages visited and time spent on site
• Browser type, device type, and operating system
• General geographic location (country/city level)
• How you found our site (referral source)

Important: This analytics data is collected on our website only, not within the VidVana application itself.

2. Crash & Bug Reports (Optional)

If you choose to send a bug report, we may collect:

• Technical diagnostic information (app version, OS version, error logs)
• Device specifications (CPU, RAM, GPU)
• Actions leading to the crash or bug

What we DON'T collect: We never collect information about your videos, file names, viewing history, library contents, or any personal content. Bug reports contain only technical diagnostic data.

3. What We Don't Collect

We do NOT collect, store, or transmit:

• Your video files or any content you view
• File names, folder structures, or library organization
• Viewing history, watch time, or playback behavior
• Bookmarks, playlists, or favorites
• Personal information (name, email, phone number)
• Payment information (VidVana is free)

HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

The minimal data we collect is used solely to:

• Improve our website: Analytics help us understand which pages are useful and where we can improve
• Fix bugs: Crash reports help us identify and resolve technical issues
• Enhance features: Understanding usage patterns helps us build better features

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

DATA STORAGE & SECURITY

Local-Only Storage

All your videos, library data, preferences, and viewing history are stored exclusively on your device. VidVana does not upload, sync, or transmit this data to any servers. Period.

Encryption

VidVana offers optional encryption for your library database with PIN protection. When enabled:

• Your library database is encrypted using industry-standard encryption
• Only you have the decryption key (your PIN)
• We cannot recover or reset your PIN—if you forget it, your encrypted data is unrecoverable
• Your video files themselves are not encrypted by VidVana (they remain in their original format on your drive)

No Cloud, No Servers

Because VidVana operates entirely offline, there are no servers to hack, no databases to breach, and no cloud accounts to compromise. Your data never leaves your device.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

VidVana currently uses the following third-party service:

• Google Analytics: For website analytics only (not in the app). See Google's Privacy Policy.

The VidVana application itself does not integrate with any third-party services, APIs, or analytics platforms.

YOUR RIGHTS

Because VidVana stores all data locally on your device, you have complete control:

• Access: All your data is stored on your device and accessible to you at any time
• Deletion: Uninstalling VidVana removes all app data from your device
• Portability: Your video files remain in their original format and location—you can move or copy them freely
• Opt-out: You can block Google Analytics on our website using browser extensions or privacy settings

Since we don't collect or store personal data on servers, there's nothing for us to delete, export, or modify on your behalf.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. When we make changes:

• The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will be revised
• Material changes will be noted prominently on this page
• It is your responsibility to review this policy periodically

We do not collect email addresses or contact information, so we cannot notify you directly of policy changes.

LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

VidVana is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law:

• We are not responsible for any loss, corruption, or unauthorized access to data stored on your device
• We make no guarantees about the security of your encrypted data if you forget your PIN
• We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of VidVana, including but not limited to data loss, privacy breaches, or system issues
• You are solely responsible for backing up your data and maintaining the security of your device

By using VidVana, you acknowledge and accept these limitations.

GOVERNING LAW

This Privacy Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
